Workout gear with athletic shoes (no sandals)

Band Sectionals begin this coming Tuesday, July 22 (6-8pm).I am Cathi Swan, the Band Parent President this year.  We have many opportunities for you and your student to be involved with the North High Band.  Thank you in advance for supporting your student and the Band this year.  Any suggestions or questions are always welcome to either Mr. Sursely or myself.

PARENTS: You need to attend the annual Band Camp Potluck with you band student. It’s a great way for your band student to cap off a long week of Band Camp and for parents to meet, visit, and hear important information for the upcoming year.  It will also be a great time to meet our new band director, Mr. Sursely.

Freshmen & Sophomores – Main Dish

Juniors – Salad or Side Dish

Seniors – Dessert

Each family needs to provide their own tableware and drinks.

End of Band Camp

Well that wraps up Band Camp.  Our students have made outstanding progress over the past week.  We also held our annual Band Camp Potluck and had a super turnout.  Here are some shots form the last day at camp 2012.

KTIV News Visit

On Friday Nick Filipowski of KTIV News Channel 4 stopped by the practice field to interview a few band students and our band director, Kevin Massey, about the work that goes into our program.  The story and 2+ minute video made the evening and nightly news spots and you can catch it on their website by following this link: KTIV Story

It’s a very nice story/video which features interviews of Becca Holzrichter and Madeline Huff who did a fabulous job of detailing the hard work our students put in to make our program possible.

Band Camp Begins

Band Camp started today at 8 AM!   Make sure to wear sunscreen and take plenty of water.  Good Luck Band Campers!

Our band camp potluck takes place on Saturday August 11th at 4:30 PM in the North High Commons.  Parents need to make sure to attend the potluck with their student to learn about important band information for the upcoming year.
